Would you believe me if I told you there are many free and natural things you can do which greatly help you eye health and vision?
Eat Mediterranean: This diet not only enhances your overall health, but reduces your likelihood of age-related macular degeneration as referenced in the journal Ophthalmology (March 2019) here is the link: https://www.aaojournal.org/article/S0161-6420(18)30721-8/abstract
Be Mindful: Mindfulness techniques such as yoga, meditation, deep breathing and getting out in nature can help you. The Journal of Glaucoma (February 2019, link is: https://www.aao.org/eye-health/news/mindfulness-meditation-may-help-fight-glaucoma ) found daily sessions over three weeks resulted in significant reductions of eye pressures AND levels of the stress hormone cortisol. Together, these reduce potential damage to the optic nerve which is glaucoma by definition.
Walking outdoors: It is not only an excellent way to get exercise, it can reduce the progression of myopia (nearsightedness) especially for younger people! The eyes are truly light-sensing organs which need natural, distant light to develop properly. Don’t forget to wear your sunglasses. link to JAMA: http://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamaophthalmology/fullarticle/10.1001/jamaophthalmol.2016.4752
